Birds of Maya – “Please Come In”

This latest fuzz chunk from the upcoming Birds of Maya does nothing to diminish the excitement for the record. The band’s been long gone from the stages, but the video for “Please Come In” restores them to their rightful place lording over the sweat clouds in a concrete bunker where the noise rises to a deafening pitch, red lining the body’s adrenaline glands in the process. The track finds the band falling right between Blue Cheer and Psychedelic Speed Freaks, with a heaviness that’s soaked through and guitar scorch that seems like it might peel skin away on contact. The upcoming LP, Valdez, is out June 25th from Drag City.
