Workhorse – “Chain”

I really enjoyed the 2017 EP from Harriet Fraser-Barbour (Wireheads, Fair Maiden, Ripple Effect Band) under her moniker Workhorse. It’s been a while since that one graced the speakers, but it’s nice to hear that a full length is on the way from the Aussie songwriter this year. Leading up the run to the new album, No Photographs, the first single “Chain” makes good on the promises of that early EP. It’s hard to deny an artist that’s bolting out of the gate with nods to Julee Cruise and Mazzy Star, and while those are lofty influences, Fraser-Barbour makes her testaments to the past stick nicely. The new album is out August 12th from Aussie imprint Dinosaur City Records.
