TWÏNS – “Something About Alice Coltrane”

A bit of bliss to wind out the day before the weekend hits. Under the name TWÏNS, Berlin artist Miro Denck has an upcoming album for Earth Libraries that pulls from the German Progressive tradition and Spiritual Jazz alike. In anticipation for the album’s release he’s put out a bonus cut today, covering Alice Coltrane’s “Something About John Coltrane,” naming it “Something About Alice Coltrane” for this release. The works of Coltrane inform his upcoming album, and that familiarity bleeds into the cover, creating a thrumming, seething, hothouse version of the track that’s a perfect entryway to Miro Denck’s works. The new single is out now, and the upcoming The Human Jazz is out June 29th.
