The Infinites – “The Queen”

Everybody’s getting in on the releases this week and after an onslaught yesterday, I’m still catching up. Site favorites Meritorio announce a new single from Austin’s The Infinites. “The Queen” rolls around the ears with an insistent loop — the band’s name referencing the band’s tendency for repeated phrasing. Hearkening back to the comfort of early aughts’ indie, the song feels familiar, but not routine. It sways the listener, rocked by the breezes until the sun dies down. The new album, Archetypes, is out February 16th from Meritorio.
