Supreme Joy – “Into The Mirror”

I always love a new cut from an old fave. Supreme Joy have been on the radar around here for a while, filling the speakers with the faded pop Polaroids of Ryan Wong (Cool Ghouls). The band is prepping a new album and the first peek into the process is the ecstatic, breathless joy of “Into The Mirror.” The song pounds the drums, rumbles the piano, and wrangles noise into constrained cool all in a tight three-minute sprint. The new record widens the band’s scope and “Into The Mirror” is a prime example of the new focus. The cut crops up on the band’s excellently named new LP, 410,757,864,530 Dead Carps, out July 11th from Vod Records.
