Spirit of Clive : A Tribute To The Music Of Clive Palmer & Cob

A really nice surprise on this Bandcamp Friday. UK label Isolation Jams has put together a lovely tribute to Clive Palmer & COB. Palmer’s likely more well known to folks in his work with Incredible String Band but the works here focus more on his work with C.O.B. and his solo records, like the lovely ad oft-overlooked Just Me. The set features more than a few familiar names from around these parts with covers docking in from Bill MacKay, Bobby Lee, Dan Melchior, Elkhorn, Hiss Golden Messenger, Kurt Vile, Jeffrey Alexander, Josephine Foster, Sally Anne Morgan, Wet Tuna, James Elkington, Joan Shelley, and more! It’s nice introduction for those who didn’t follow Palmer out of ISB and into his later works and, honestly, just a really great fall listen. The set is available now, check out a few cuts below.
