Mirage – “TV Screens”

A psychedelic gut punch crawls out of the crevices over at Centripetal Force Records today with the release of Mirage’s “TV Screens.” Reminiscent of the early, asbestos blues of Purling HIss, the band is the brainchild of Rocco Freedman (Banshee, Native Sun). The first single chews on the speakers with an acid grin — grated guitar shreds and fuzz cake fumes mingle with Freedman’s cavern cultured vocals for a combo that’s as punishing as it is cathartic. The single’s light on lyrics but it doesn’t seem like you’ve come to the altar at Mirage for the the message, more for the full body salt scrape of guitar that ensues. The record is out March 11th from Centripetal Force.
