Matthew Dunn “Tally Ho!”

It’s a day packed with great new releases and plenty of RSTB faves, and in that regard, I’m always happy to see Matthew ‘Doc’ Dunn back on the release schedule. Though it would appear for his latest LP, he’s dropped the sobriquet and sticking with his proper paperwork. Today, Dunn announces an upcoming album out in June, the packed new collection Lover Raiders. At twenty two tracks, it’s the largest new outing from the Canadian songwriter in some time. The first single is set to singe, finding him in full choogle with J Mascis by his side. “Tally Ho!” clips in at a full careen, bolstered by fuzzed amps and frayed sensibilities. Dunn’s works have been a bit more measured of late, but it’s good to hear him lay into it with cowlicked abandon, feeding the fire that’s long lived in his strings and songs. It’s a great setup and I can’t wait to hear the rest! The new album, Love Raiders is out June 2nd from Cosmic Range.
