Caught wind of this one earlier in the week and I’m glad to see this pop up on Bandcamp Friday. Massage’s sophomore LP this year amplified the most endearing parts of their debut and pushed them further afield from their Sarah/Subway beginnings and towards the thicker sounds of Creation’s heyday. With the first song off of their upcoming EP Lane Lines, the band tighten their grip on the ghosts of the ‘80s jangle and new wave reigns. With a nod to New Order’s propulsive bass lines, and a Go-Betweens via Veronica Falls sparkle of bittersweet bliss, “In Gray & Blue” finds the band gazing at clouds and exhaling melancholy motifs. The new EP was produced by Andrew Brassell (Susanna Hoffs) and will land December 10th from Mt.St.Mtn. Check out the video for “In Gray & Blue” above.
