Large Plants – “Death of Pliny”

Couldn’t be a more perfect day to announce a new record from Large Plants. The band’s Anglican psych and prog just seems to make more sense framed by a cold September drizzle. The band follows up last year’s year-end favorite The Carrier, a record that found Jack Sharp (Wolf People) balancing smoke-curled and wooded auras with a dark undercurrent of biker psych. This time around the band leans much further into the former, feeling like the soundtrack to a lysergic Arthurian drama — draped in swamp fog, dark magic, and death. The band released two pre-album singles before signing to Ghost Box last year, with “The Death of Pliny” showing up absent on The Carrier. The song now gets a full release among the offerings on The Thorn, the band’s latest, which arrives November 17th. You can check further clips over at Ghost Box.
