Been a little while since I’ve heard from La Luz, but Shana Cleveland’s solo LP was a constant around here when it was released a little while back. The band returns with a standalone single that mixes their nocturnal surf with a more languorous feeling that matches the ode to disappearing into the country to hide from the world. I can relate, having left the city quite a few years back for wider spaces. The song vibrates with a natural aura — synths creating a psychedelic halo of neon flocks and hallucinatory hives beneath the hip-slung twang of guitar fuzz that often accompanies their works. Good to have ’em back, at least for a little while. The new single is out now along wit the pastoral video above.
