Joe Ghatt – “Pale Blue Dot”

A sunny second single slides out from New Zealand’s Joe Ghatt today. With a ‘60s shake that recalls Bananagun and Babe Rainbow, the Kiwi songwriter knows his way around mellow moorings. A low-slung slink accompanies the cut, brought in on warm breezes that speak of boundless days. “Pale Blue Dot” sidles nicely next to the first single’s Afrobeat boogie, boding well for the album on the way this summer. The song’s breeziness belies an underlying ecological worry, a plea to take care of the speck in the sky we all ride on before it crumbles and corrodes further. Joe’s new album, Caper, is out June 14th from Third Eye Stimuli.
