Jim Nothing – “Wildflowers”
by Andy
The new album from Jim Nothing has been a fount of amazing singles over the past few months. With the band letting loose the fifth single from their upcoming LP, and not a miss in sight, it’s pretty clear that this should be atop your indie pop purchase pile at this point. “Wildflowers” lets the strums fight the tide of fuzz, building a nice bit of tension that feeds into their ‘90s-indebted sound quite nicely. It’s a song rooted in past reflections on summer, so a fitting farewell to the sunny season around here. The new album, Grey Eyes, Grey Lynn, is out October 18th on Meritorio Records and Melted Ice Cream.
