Fuckwolf – “Cataclysm”

A real scorcher on the way here from West Coast riff slingers Silver Current this week. The label preps a split 12” between the indomitable Fuckwolf, already favorites around here, and Japanese psych unit Green Milk From The Planet Orange. The latter offers up a heavy n’ heady live take on their classic “Concrete City Breakdown,” from City Calls Revolution. It’s a live show staple given a proper stretch here for the split. The cut was recorded in Akihabara last year. Fuckwolf, meanwhile lay into a sun-ravaged song cycle recorded by labelhead Ethan Miller. First cut from the Wolf is the motorik menace of “Cataclysm,” a hungry, sinewy beast that gives an idea of what the SF band’s been cooking over the last few months. The new record, Let’s Split, crawls its way out into the world on March 22nd.
