The first dip into the new album from Flanger Magazine, the work of Louisville songwriter Christopher Bush, is a gorgeously serene bout of drone folk that slowly unravels over the course of three and a half minutes. With a sawing of fiddle, and and unsteady wheeze the band finds the balance between Gruppo di Improvvisazion and Black Twig Pickers — a mountain reverie for the unbound. This time Bush brings along a few more friends than on his first, employing members of The Other Years, Sapat, and Caboladies to back him on After The Bend. The new record is out May 13th from Students of Decay. Listen to the hypnotic “Falls Fountain Removed” below.
