Emergency Group – At Westbeth

Lots to digest, as usual on a Bandcamp Friday, but there are a few that shouldn’t slip through the tracks. Case in point, RSTB favorites Emergency Group slip out a new record, recorded at Far West Studio at Westbeth Artist Housing. If you’ve encountered the band in the live setting, then it’s already apparent that they’re consummate improvisors, often crafting some of their best moments on stage. On At Westbeth, the band channels frustration and rage into four longform burners built for these times. Set up as a four part suite, the pieces here gnash and snarl, churning out 4 jazz rock rippers for the ages. The band’s always locked into the electric miles and turbulent sweat of Hancock and here they aim their ire directly at the tape. The new release is out now as a digital release and on limited (50 pcs) tape.
