Eggy – “Open Field”

Seems the name Eggy’s gotten double booked of late, and while the jam band circuit can claim the New Haven travelers, the Aussies operating under the name are hitting a more progressive note. The new single from the band’s upcoming From Time To Time, finds them sending signals through the space-time channels, launching “Open Field” into the cosmos propelled by a motorik pulse that’s scraping the seams of Stereolab. The song opens slow and swirled before locking in the beat and hitting the fuzz pedal, flash frying the the listener in a bath of synth squelch and locked tight rhythm. The group pairs the single with a dizzying video, throwing the viewer into the heart of light and sound. The band’s new album is out March 21st from Flightless.
