Cole Pulice – “After The Rain”

An absolute essential as the warmer days move in, RSTB favorite Cole Pulice announces a new album for New Age / experimental powerhouse LEAVING Records. The Oakland songwriter has been around these parts quite a few times, stunning solo and complimenting their fair share of collaborators, including Powers/Rolin Duo, Lynn Avery, Nat Harvie, Roy Werner, and Chuck Johnson. The new record has Cole solo above the fold, but that doesn’t mean that the record is by any means spare. First single, “After The Rain,” finds Maria BC’s vocals floating over Pulice’s cotton-wrapped chords, warming the listener with their ebullient glow. The track grows Cole’s sound to its largest proportions yet with the addition of a brass ensemble. The bulk of the record centers on a pastoral jazz suite that showcases the scope of Pulice’s songwriting, a new chapter for the Oakland standout. The new record, Land’s End Eternal, is out May 9th from LEAVING.
