Clove – “Hesitate”

Last week introduced the debut single from Aussie outfit Clove. As promised, the band is working towards three total by the end of the month, and this week they let loose “Hesitate.” A bit more measured release than last week’s “Intro,” which dipped into psych and jazz touches, bringing to mind Babe Rainbow, Bures Band and Bananagun. This time around they’re leaning closer to Aussie contemporary Leah Senior — still lacing in some ‘70s flutes and a patter of percussion, but also reclining into a nest of strums, soft pillows of sax, and gorgeous harmonies.
