Bobby Lee & Mia Doi Todd – “Walking With Trees”
A nice surprise track today from RSTB fave Bobby Lee and Mia Doi Todd. “Walking With Trees” appears on the new compilation Home from UK label Warm. The comp attempts to bridge the isolation brought about by the recent pandemic with a feeling of natural surroundings. Featuring inclusions from Âme, Coyote, Crack’d Man (aka Crooked Man), Fug (, Kirk Degiorgio presents As One, Turtle, and Ewan Pearson’s World of Apples, the records is laced together with recordings specific to the label’s surrounding Pooole by critically acclaimed sound and field recording artist Gary Moore, of Springwatch/Autumnwatch. Todd and Lee offer up a languid psych-folk dipped track that’s an overcast delight. With Bobby’s rain-streaked playing in the background, Mia’s heart heavy vocals suck the listener into a velvet whirlpool that’s fragrant with the scent of flora and burnt clove. With a pairing like this, it kinda makes you want the two to keep this running for a full album. The comp is out December 3rd.
