BASIC – “Nerve Time”

Following a pre-release single that got anticipation high, the debut album from BASIC is announced today. The band brings together Philly’s best with Chris Forsyth and Nick Millevoi tangling guitars while Mikel Patrick Avery (Natural Information Society) brings the rhythmic pulse. Like “New Auspicious,” today’s single adopts a driving beat, but with a more subtle simmer. “Nerve Time” has a slinking funk to it, snatching at the ‘80s New Wave wobble, but chewing as often on the wires of post-punk. The slippery single builds anticipation as we swelter through summer to the band’s September debut, This is BASIC, out September 6 from No Quarter.
