Suitor – “Dull Customer”

The second single out of Suitor’s upcoming album turns the tide towards smolder; a low-slung, shadowed cut that creeps along on a steady beat and Emma Shepard’s restrained delivery. Darkness threads through the track, punctuated by quick slices of guitar that puncture the inky aura, searching for soft purchase. Recorded live in Lawrence, Kansas by Caufield Schnug and Lira Mondal of Sweeping Promises, the new record elevates the band’s mix of punk, noise, and post-punk. Picking up the reigns left by Siouxie, the band feels like they’d be easy company for newer releases from The New Eves, RVG, or Horsegirl. The band’s new record, Saw You Out With The Weeds, is out March 20th from Feel It Records.
