Yasmin Williams – “Virga (feat Darlingside & Rich Ruth)”

Following a single last year, word comes down this week on Yasmin Williams’ Nonesuch debut. The multi-instrumentalist has stunned with her stringwork over the past few years and the bump up to a bigger label bodes well to get her a wider array of much-deserved attention. “Virga” again finds Williams collaborating, with folk ensemble Darlingside providing a whisper of vocals and RSTB favorite Rich Ruth adding synths to the cut. As usual, though, it’s Williams who holds the listener’s attention, letting verdant runs ripple through the speakers with a dawn-light luminescence. The new album, Acadia, is out October 4th from Nonesuch.
