Wireheads – “Hook Echo”

After a short hiatus that found Dom Trimboli operating as Dom & The Wizards, the songwriter is back scratching at the blister of Wireheads this week. Where Dom offered up a more baroque side of the songwriter, Wireheads have long embraces the chaos, chewing on the gristle of society for the better part of the past decade. The RSTB faves sling their discordant noise-punk with the best of ‘em, and each new record begs a bigger bump from the volume knob. Wireheads are made for moments when the seams start to split. “Hook Echo,” in that regard, rips through the rubble with a ragged bite in the guitars before Trimboli’s trademark yowl comes in to scratch at the senses. The band’s new album, Potentially Venus, is out June 23rd from Tenth Court.
