Waste Man – “Proofreaders, Singles, and Philosophers”

A real ripper out of this NOLA band pounds down on the spine with the full force of the SST classics that fuel it. Bent and battered guitar runs underpin a sweat drenched delivery and sandpapered vocals. They twist the track into torqued knots, but don’t shy away from a shout-along chorus. 2021 has has had some real gems among the new music bins, but its felt a bit pillowy and gentle in a lot of ways, but now Waste Man barrel rolls in with a gravel-biter to toughen us all up a bit. The new record is out April 2nd on Feel It Records.
