A second single teases the official pre-order for the sophomore album from Upupayāma this week. Italian multi-instrumentalist Alessio Ferrari continues to plumb the depths of psychedelia, finding easy footing with releases from Kikagaku Moyo and Dungen with heavy debts paid to Ghost and Träd, Gräs och Stenar along the way. “Sata me Pani” finds Ferrari dosing the track with sitar and flute in addition to the winding psychedelic guitar passages and cavernous pound of drums. His first album flew just a touch under the radar until getting a welcome vinyl issue from Centripetal Force/Cardinal Fuzz, a surprise gem that seemingly materialized out of the ether. The new album, The Golden Pond, is shaping up to equal it’s predecessor’s psychedelic vision. The new LP is out November 4th, again from Centripetal Force and Cardinal Fuzz.
