Triptides – “Let It Go”

Avatar

Got a nice cut for a clear day from the upcoming Triptides record, Alter Echoes. The band makes the jump to Alive Naturalsound Recs for this release, pursuing a more progressive palate in the process. Yet despite the larger ambitions for the record as a whole, “Let It Go,” is for the most a pure and simple jangler — built on The Byrds’ crisp cut strums and thick billows of harmony. The band stun the sound for a drag ‘round the sun on the second half, but it only lets the warmth of the track seep in further as the psychedelics overtake the ring of the strings. The new LP is out on March 19th. If feels easy to have slept on the massive, yet excellent catalog of the L.A. band, but this might just be the perfect time to jump in with both feet.
