A second single from the upcoming Teddy & The Rough Riders album lands today and its another lovely evolution in the band’s sound. Smoothing their edges from some of the cosmic country romps of their last, the band has paired with Margo Price behind the boards to create something more polished, but no less potent. “Hey Richard,” has a morning amble quality to it as it picks apart a narrative of rock n’ roll revival. With a southern spiritual surrealism, the song sways and then leans into a yearning harmonica line. Can’t wait for this one to land in early July. The band has long been a favorite around here, but I’m excited to see them getting some wider support. The eponymous album is out July 1st from Appalachia Record Co.
