Tarotplane – “Omayyad”

I’ve been looking forward to this Tarotplane album and now its out in the works with a mesmerizing new video by Timothy Nohe. While PJ’s works with Tarotplane have straddled lines between deep-dimension electronics and Kosmiche, this one leans decidedly towards the latter. With all reverence towards Göttsching, this one dives into the Inventions-era works of the guitarist as a blueprint for hypnotic bliss. Aided by the magic eye mesmerism of the video, “Omayyad” pulls the listener into the abyss, a heady tumble through the mirror and out the other side of consciousness. The song caps off the new album Aeonium perfectly, landing this as one of Dorsey’s most engrossing works. The record is out now on Constellation Tatsu.
