Step-Panther – “Bike Lock”
by Andy
Haven’t heard the name Step-Panther in a bit, but it’s good to have the Aussie band back at it today. A new single “Bike Lock” picks up the gnarled indie yoke where they left lingering after their 2014 album Strange But Nice, pounding out a melancholy melter made for grey-skied days. Hung on the clash of guitars that push against the American alt angles, the song is pulling from The Replacements repository with a dash of sweetness in the harmonies that slip alongside newcomers like Mozes and the Firstborn. ‘Bike Lock’ will feature on Farmer & The Owl’s upcoming compilation, ‘Family Values’, which is set for release Sept 25.
