Slack Times – “Look At You”

Meritorio Records continue cull the best indie pop going, from West Coast janglers to Swedish pop pickers. This time they take a tour through the American south with Birmingham-based Slack Times. The band’s sound picks up on some of the Athens-bred pop shivers, but swerves into a lighter territory, melding brightly accented jangles with high-range vocal harmonies that nip at bubblegum and punk tracers. Thought that’s not to say this one has a crunch to it, far from it, in fact. The band keep things ambled and airy on “Look At You.” The single comes with the announcement of a new album, Carried Away, an assemblage of EPs alongside eight new songs, on June 24th.
