Silver Synthetic – “Cool Blue Night”

Probably my favorite cut off of the upcoming new Silver Synthetic album, “Cool Blue Night” introduces a ripple of jazz to the band’s Cosmic American landscape. The song finds the core band fleshed out with Rex Gregory on sax and flute, slinking through the AOR atmospheres with ease. The band’s usual edge gets rounded and refined, sanded down and surf waxed into a cut that’s cured with a California breeze. The band may carry NOLA credentials but they’ve long been part of the West Coast contingent musically, and never so solidly as they are on the upcoming Rosalie. The new album is out March 7th from Curation Records.
