Shackleton & Six Organs of Admittance – “Stages of Capitulation”

Certainly not a collaboration I would have predicted in 2024, but as the surprise fades, the intrigue builds. Ben Chasny’s Six Organs of Admittance links up with Sam Shackleton’s ink well of electronics for an album that runs psych-folk through the darkest corners of the psyche. The first cut from the pair, “Stages of Capitulation” slinks into view on coiled rhythms before Chasny’s guitar begins to ignite the oil slick left pooling from the first half. Very interested to see where the rest of this album goes. The new record, Jinxed By Being, is out June 28th from Drag City.
