Prefect ready a new comp: Two Two Seven

Among the excellent new outlets offering up insight into indie pop these days, UK label Prefect has been a constant favorite. Among their early offerings of works from The Tubs, Ex-Vöid, Mt. Misery, and EggS, they’ve been more than happy to shine a light on bands that have fallen outside of their catalog as well. Last year the label offered up a comp, 14, that worked as a snapshot of some of the best janglers around, in the spirit of Sarah, The Subway Organization, or 53rd & 3rd. The label is back in the compilation cradle today with a new round up, Two Two Seven. The comp culls quite a few RSTB favorites for its snapshot this year, with April Magazine, Tony Jay, The Smashing Times, The Laughing Chimes, Whitney’s Playland, and Mt. Misery making the cut. The label’s even rounded up a new one from Real Numbers who haven’t been around these parts since their Brighter Then EP a few years ago. Great to see them back in action. Nab the new comp now and while you’re over there, feel free to rifle through the rest of Prefect’s catalog, not a miss in the bunch.
