Meatbodies – “Move”
The new singles from the upcoming Meatbodies are hitting fast and leaving a few teeth marks on listeners in the lead up to Flora Ocean Tiger Bloom. The last single found the band slipping into a cavernous ‘90s sound, echoing Smashing Pumpkins, lost in a stage-light glint and sequin swirl. The new single “Move” continues to tear into ‘90s favorites, but they light into a different set of MTV titans this time. The lengthy “Move” climbs into the caverns and echoes “Mountain Song,” feeling like heirs apparent to the well of Janes’ sinewy catharsis. The song builds on bass and vapor, coiling and uncoiling itself until the song explodes into snarls of guitar and a funhouse full of vocal howls. The new record, Flora Ocean Tiger Bloom is out March 8th from In The Red.
