Kassi Valazza – “Your Heart’s A Tin Box”

A second stunner of a single out of the new LP from Kassi Valazza. The Portland songwriter wrapped Canyon Country in icy English winds on her last album and there’s a strain of UK folk remains on her upcoming album, From Newman Street. New single “Your Heart’s A Tin Box,” sways quite a bit closer to the Canyon, though. Breezy strums and the patter of percussion push it along with Kassi’s vocals just toeing the line between Sandy Denny and Judee Sill. Like the latter, Valazza has a way with hooks that feel like they soak the soul and it’s hard to shake it once the song starts running around the head. Kassi’s new record is out May 2nd from Loose Music.
