John Andrews & The Yawns – “Try”

Gonna wind down the day with another lovely single from the upcoming John Andrews and the Yawns record. Lost in a fog, “Try” folds onto the speakers cascading waves. Andrews’ piano ambles with an unhurried air before those country streaks of guitar send the chorus home. There’s a yearning to it that’s present on a lot of the record, a heartsick yearning for something that’s just out of reach. Can’t recommend this record highly enough. It’s a comfort, an heirloom blanket of sound that’s built for days without end, and better yet, without agenda. The record lands at Woodsist on May 14th.
