Gold Dust – “Run Into Clouds”

Another serene peek into the upcoming Gold Dust LP is out today, coming quickly on the heels of the first offering, “Oh Well.” Stretching a bit more into the glint of sunlight psych, “Run Into Clouds” springboards off of the private press folk influences of Pierce’s first single but corrals a shimmering psych-pop shiver into the mix that threads through the synapses with a refreshing resplendence. Cavernous vocals stretch up into the night sky, while the firework pop of percussion softly explodes in the background. The first single was a private press ode to quietude, but the second embraces the grandeur of something like Spiritualized minus the local choir or perhaps more accurately, The Alps’ shimmering psych with a bit more to say. The record, as I’ve mentioned previously, pushes away from Pierce’s guazier grounds with Kindling and lays him into a new chrysalis of cosmic folk, which sounds good on him. The record is out October 15th.
