Dean McPhee – “Cosmos”

An excellent new single from UK guitarist Dean McPhee lands today. The A-side is an echo-laden slice of smoldering instrumental guitar, pulling at the mind like taffy and living up to its cosmic title. McPhee’s guitars reach out towards the edges of consciousness, work their way backwards and parry with the rumbling drones beneath the horizon. An accompanying video is taken from the short film “Universe” (1976) directed by Lester Novros, leaning in nicely to the themes of space and time. The track was originally from a limited lathe cut 7’ single on Reverb Worship, that quickly sold out. Now, with the digital release, these tracks are back in circulation for those, like most of us, who missed out.
