Crimson Creek – S/T

A double shot of classic ripped n’ riddled rock from German band Crimson Creek. The band digs deep into Grand Funk, Black Crowes, and Free vibes on their debut single. The first cut is the most pungent, pairing a funk and sweat riff with R&B harmonies that pine with the best of ’em. Sure, the cut is a core ‘70s memory, unearthed and unbridled, but the band’s having a hell of a time trying on the suede and soul of the era. The flip of the single ups the smolder, letting the heavy leather licks go by the wayside in favor of something more saturated. The organs take the forefront, but Marlon Blaes still pulls the listener in with an impassioned delivery that sinks to its knees in anguish. The new single is out now direct from the band.
