More good news out of the Cosmic Tones Research camp. Last week saw the release of a new album from Harlan Silverman and now the band’s Roman Norfleet announces a new collaboration with Andre Raiah (Be Present Art Group). The first single from the duo circles some of the calm of the Trio, but stops shy of the serenity of Silverman’s latest lap around New Age ambience. Built on percolating percussion and oscillating Rhodes, The MerKaBa Brotherhood weave textured visions that lay over the listener like a sound bath. The kaleidoscopic “Galgalim” spins its shapes over the mind in glycerine-coated colors. The cut opens the band’s eponymous new album, out May 15th from Mississippi Records.
