The Reds, Pinks, and Purples – “Slow Torture of an Hourly Wage”

The road to the new Reds, Pinks and Purples has been littered with excellent singles. The band bumps up to Fire Records for the latest, and the larger platform lets Glenn’s anguished indie echo from a few more corners. Still populated with themes of disillusion and damaged dreams, the latest single swerves somber, simmering anxiety and anger in deep sighs. “Slow Torture of an Hourly Wage,” feels like a perfect encapsulation of what’s made RPP’s vital over the past few years — slow jangles, swooning choruses, and a crushing ennui that sweats from every pore. The new record, The Past Is A Garden I Never Fed, is out July 4th.
