Te Huhu – “On Holiday”

Auckland’s Te Huhu prep their new album Deelishis Herbs following a string of singles that have drawn listeners into their woozy psychedelic sound. “On Holiday,” the band’s latest, lulls us into their humid wonderland with a hypnotic chant vocal over melted guitars, piano, and the slow snap of drums. Picking at the “Planet Caravan” template and setting it aloft on a plume of smoke, the song works its vocal repetitions into a mantra that gives their psychedelics a meditative glow. The new album, Deelishis Herbs, is out November 1st from Grubby Records.
