This one’s a lovely surprise this morning, a new collaboration between Tanya Donnelly (Belly, Throwing Muses) and Chris Brokaw (Come, Codeine). The pair explore the hushed aura of medieval music, given a new life in modern hues. Pairing patient, methodical strums with Donnelly’s crystalline voice, the first single from their upcoming EP reimagines the renaissance refracted through Galaxie 500’s hush, a meditative pairing that brings the spiritual to slowcore. The new EP, recorded at Woolly Mammoth Sound, finds the Boston pair exploring four classical pieces in their own mercurial style. The new EP, The Undone is Done Again, is out April 17th from Fire Records.
