Last Year’s excellent debut from Shrunken Elvis proved a penchant for Kosmiche journeys, but his latest swerve finds him deep in the embrace of fusion, tackling the slickness of ECM-era improv. Quicksilver guitar runs, funk fringes, and an explorer’s heart permeate the pores of Inner Principles, Sean’s new album recorded with the help of Jake Davis, Alec Newman, Eric Slick, Jo Schornikow, and his forever foil Rich Ruth.
