Sam Blasucci – “Turn Yourself Around”
The last few years have been good for settling into the smoth end of the ‘70s — from Sylvie to John Andrews, Cool Ghouls and Bedouine, there are plenty of artists finding their way through the buttery production that brings to mind the early hours of the morning. Add to that list Sam Blasucci, one half of RSTB faves Mapache. Where the group always had one foot in the most serene moments of folk’s sway, Blasucci’s upcoming solo LP finds itself more in line with his current inclinations towards the works of Ronnie Wood and Sade. The strums of Mapache have been replaced by a dependence on piano for the new record. From the outset it feels like some of Sam’s most personal works to date. The video for “Turn Yourself Around” to his late friend Alfred who’s husband Roman is featured in the clip. The new album, Off My Stars, is out June 2nd from Innovative Leisure.
