The new single out of Montreal’s Private Lives kicks off the runnup to the band’s sophomore LP, a record boiled and burned and bound to draw blood. The first single, “Psychic Beat,” slips between girl group buoyancy and garage-punk grit. It’s the kind of cut that leaves tire tracks on the listener, swerving between speakers with a wild-eyed glee. The band’s swagger has only solidified in the years since their debut, and they bring a bolder set of bruises to the upcoming Salt of the Earth. The new record is out March 21st from Feel It Records.
