Primitive Ring – “Heads Will Roll”

A heavy day at RSTB, and it’s not getting any lighter with the first single from Primitive Rings’ forthcoming debut. The trio, featuring site staples Bert Hoover (Hooveriii, Groop), Jon Modaff (Hooveriii, Groop), and Charles Moothart (Fuzz, GØGGS), has spent the last few years unleashing a steady stream of singed singles onto the speakers. The band, as their credentials might imply, brings a tectonic thunder to the table that’s coated in creosote and picking up the power trio yoke left slack from the ‘70s. The first single from an eponymous new debut doesn’t waste any time by turning down the turbulence from the pre-album thunder. “Heads Will Roll” rips into the listener with the fuzz-tumbled bluster of Blue Cheer, Toad, or Leaf Hound. The band is on tour this Spring with Ty Segall and slated to hi KGATLW’s Field of Vision II in August.
