No Peeling – “Mascot Fight”
by Andy
On their second EP, Nottingham’s No Peeling hurtle through No Wave and Post-Punk sign posts, crushing riffs into tinfoil tangles that gnash at the speakers. The box grater guitars swipe at the squelch of synths, turning turbulence into rubberneck riffs. Below the fray the band injects an element of inertia, a rhythm engine that pushes “Mascot Fight” at a pace that’s just a touch less dizzying than first single, “Stationary.” Like the last, this one is also a hummable head rush, and and imperative argument in favor of getting EP2 on deck for its release at the beginning of next month. The new EP is out May 1st from Feel It Records.
