Mapache – “All About Our Love”
L.A. folk duo Mapache are back and they want to tell you how they spent their lockdown time. After a scuttled tour the band decided that the studio was a proper refuge and headed there with producer Dan Horne who was along for the tour. Instead of poring over new material, the band decided to get in touch with a few influences and they’ve worked out an LP of covers and interpretations that spans a wide swath of the smoother spectrum. Case in point, the band launches the album with a cover of Sade’s “All About Our Love” turning the sultry soul of the original into a firelight country quiver. The rest of the album tackles material from friends of the band like Allah Las & Little Wings, certified classics from Stevie Wonder & the Beach Boys alongside Babe Rainbow, Peter Rowan, and The Louvin Brothers. The new album, simply titled 3 is out November 19th from Innovative Leisure.
